January 24th, 2012Computers, Photography, sports, sports equipmentIf you follow this blog you will see that I have written lots and lots about Gopro Cameras and where to get a deal on yours with available Gopro coupons. I would first like to comment that I was a little disappointed with the Gopro Hero 2 camera. Not because it’s not a good camera, but because they used it to replace and quickly phase out the original Gopro HD Hero which was a cheaper alternative. I find most of the highly touted options like a 11mp sensor and .5 Sec Time Lapse Mode are rarely used and would rather save $50-$100 for a Gopro the shoots same quality HD Video. FYI some vendors still have original gopro available at Original Gopro HD Hero Deals.
How does the Gopro compare to the Contour Cameras?? Contour Cameras are good cameras that also shoot excellent quality and are comparable in price. My honest opinion is that both are pretty equal. I think Gopro is more popular because of branding. I do find the Gopro has more mounting options, but the Contour does have a GPS model that is pretty cool, especially for jumpers that want a wearable camera, because it will track altitude and speed. You can save 10% off Contour with free coupon at Contour Camera Coupons.
How does the Gopro compare to Drift Innovation? The Drift Innovation has just been redone. I have never used one but if your not familiar with the Drift it does offer a ton of features. Sample videos I’ve seen are excellent. It has a built in LCD, rotatable lens. 9mp sensor, comes with remote, mirco HDMI, digital zoom and microphone jack. This unit goes for a little more at $369 but it does have a ton of features. I found the mounting options are the best for on the body, but if your doing something like biking you may want to take a look at this unit. The best deal I can find is $249 at Drift Innovations Coupons. This is a two day sale so you will have to decide quickly.

April 28th, 2011Photography, sports, sports equipmentSummer is rolling in and it’s time to capture some great footage with your Gopro camera. No doubt the Gopro Hero Cameras are the number one wearable cameras on the market, but the question I always get is which one to choose. The answer comes down to what your budget is. If your looking for Gopro coupons for a deal, check at Gopro Coupon Codes. I recommend going with the full Gopro HD Hero, which of course is the most expensive option that they have. It’s a great camera and it lets you use the new Gopro accessories. In particular the LCD Bacpac thats adds an LCD screen to your camera is wonderful. If your on a budget you will be extremely happy with the Gopro HD Hero 960. It’s almost the same camera as the full Gopro HD Hero, except it shoots in 960p not full 1080p, and it does not let you use any of the Gopro Premium Accessories. I guess what I’m trying to say is that it’s great to have the latest but the Gopro HD Hero 960 will probably satisfy majority of users, producing great footage while saving a few bucks. April 24th, 2011Photography, sports, sports equipmentHere is what a buddy did with his Gopro HD Hero for Fly fishing. The video with the hemet strap was terrible footage, so he took his Gopro HD Hero with the Gopro LCD Bacpac attached it to a rock and set it just in front of the pool he was fishing. I’m assuming that he used the Gopro LCD Screen to ensure that it was positioned with a good point of view. Hooked on to two fish and brought them right in over the Gopro. Pretty cool footage. I am waiting for youtube link and I will post for the anglers. Just another example of the many ways a Gopro can be used for various sports and they don’t all have to be extreme type sports. Check it out the Gopro and Gopro deals at Gopro Coupons.

April 6th, 2011Automobile, Photography, sports, sports equipmentI can’t wait to give this Gopro 3D system a try. I just read the blog “What you need for 3d video recording with Gopro” and it clearly outlines what you need to shoot in 3D. In total from scratch it will cost you about $650 if you don’t already have a Gopro HD Hero camera. Depending on who you are you may find this expensive, but compare it to other 3D cameras (two lens cameras) on the market. Another nice little camera that is cheaper is the Sony Bloggie 3D that goes for $249. The problem with this is that its not really a fair comparison. Good luck getting your action sports filmed with a Sony Bloggie. You also get the use of two Gopro cameras when your not shooting in 3D, so you shoot double the footage from different angles if your not shooting 3D. I think that for certain Gopro users like users of the Gopro HD Motorsports will find that thier footage in 3D will be just off the charts. Just image full 3D from a great mount angle in car on the track. If you don’t need a mountable camera and want a 3D camera check out the Sony Bloggie coupon. For more info and deals on Gopro 3D check to see if their any Gopro promo codes.

April 1st, 2011Photography, sports, sports equipmentA 32 GB gives you 9 hours of recording. The reason why I use one is that it makes it so much easier when trying to film over a couple of days. I understand that the Gopro HD Hero only gives you a couple of hours on a full charge so why do you need 9 hours of recording. The reason is simple, first off I have a couple extra batteries. I don’t like the idea of the new Gopro Battery Bacpac, because you have to have the Gopro LCD Screen. I will spend hours on the water and when I come in I don’t want to edit or pull video. I also have to plug in camera to charge batteries for tomorrow and that’s about all I want to do along with eat and party!! When tomorrow hits, I’m fully charged and still lots of recording time and no messing around. When I get to work on Monday I can play with hours of footage. (this is one of the benefits of working for yourself). If your a Gopro user and have not tried the Gopro LCD Screen go get it. If you are still considering a Gopro HD Hero camera, it’s an amazing little thing and you will love it. Order it with the Gopro LCD Screen and at least one extra battery is my recommendation. Take advantage of any Gopro coupons or available promos at Gopro Promo Codes.

March 24th, 2011Entertainment, Photography, sports, sports equipmentThis is my opinion but I think the Gopro HD Hero 960 is not worth it when compared to Gopro HD Hero. Although it does cost a $130 less then the full HD Gopro Camera, you have no ability to use what Gopro calls a premium accessory, like the Gopro LCD Bacpac. The advantage of an LCD screen addition really tips the scale. I have a few friends that shoot at narrower field of view then the 170 degree and the LCD lets them accurately frame their shots. I have not tested it yet but I’ve been told that shooting with a narrower Field of view produces a sharper video. If you want to really focus in on the action and use a narrower field of view, the LCD bacpac is a must to get the shot you want. You can find more information, available Gopro coupons/Gopro promo codes at Gopro.

November 26th, 2010Computers, Photography, sports, sports equipmentWent to order a few Gopro Wide Hero for Christmas gifts today and they are sold out. I hope they get more in before the holidays. The other models like the Gopro HD 960 and the Gopro HD Hero seem to be available at this time. If your looking at getting a Gopro or two I would order them now. In the past they have been out of stock on the other models, so I’m not sure what kind of inventory they carry. Demand is probably going to be really high for these awesome little cameras. I jumped up to the Gopro HD 960 to make sure that I got the cameras. The Gopro Wide Hero is SD, but they only cost $99. They said that they would ship in time but I did not want to risk it so I went the the almost full HD Gopro 960 for $179. The gifts are for my younger nephews so the SD Gopro is perfect at $99. It mounts and looks like its big brothers, just not HD. Quality is still great especially for web and home videos. Check out the entire Gopro Lineup.

October 5th, 2010Computers, Photography, sports, sports equipmentI disagree with techdeal blog “Gopro HD hero 960 review“. The camera is great. I took video off my HD Hero 960 and played it on my HD TV. The up scaling on the TV to 1080p made my video looked fine. Its a great camera with great features and now sports a great price at only $179. I got the gopro hd hero 960 and a whole bunch of mounts and still saved almost a $100 bucks compared to its big brother the Gopro HD Hero camera. Its unfortunate though that I could not find a gopro hd hero 960 coupon code when I bought mine.
