If you follow this blog you will see that I have written lots and lots about Gopro Cameras and where to get a deal on yours with available Gopro coupons.  I would first like to comment that I was a little disappointed with the Gopro Hero 2 camera.  Not because it’s not a good camera, but because they used it to replace and quickly phase out the original Gopro HD Hero which was a cheaper alternative.  I find most of the highly touted options like a 11mp sensor and .5  Sec Time Lapse Mode are rarely used and would rather save $50-$100 for a Gopro the shoots same quality HD Video.  FYI some vendors still have original gopro available at Original Gopro HD Hero Deals. 

How does the Gopro compare to the Contour Cameras?? Contour Cameras are good cameras that also shoot excellent quality and are comparable in price.  My honest opinion is that both are pretty equal.  I think Gopro is more popular because of branding.  I do find the Gopro has more mounting options, but the Contour does have a GPS model that is pretty cool, especially for jumpers that want a wearable camera, because it will track altitude and speed. How does the Gopro compare to Drift Innovation?  The Drift Innovation has just been redone.  I have never used one but if your not familiar with the Drift it does offer a ton of features.  Sample videos I’ve seen are excellent.  It has a built in LCD, rotatable lens. 9mp sensor, comes with remote, mirco HDMI, digital zoom and microphone jack.  This unit goes for a little more at $369 but it does have a ton of features.  I found the mounting options are the best for on the body, but if your doing something like biking you may want to take a look at this unit.  The best deal I can find is $249 at Drift Innovations Coupons.  This is a two day sale so you will have to decide quickly.

Wearable cameras are going to be popular this holidays.  The Two top companies are probably Gopro Cameras and Contour Cameras.  Both companies offer a great full 1080p HD wearable camera.  Gorpo is probably the more popular camera, but after using both cameras the Contour is easier to use, offers the same quality video and costs a little bit less.  The ContourRoam goes for $199 and the Gopro HD Hero naked is the same price, but with no mounts.  If you want a really cheap deal you can use one of the Contour Coupons and get a Contour 1080p for $149.  If your looking for more options you have to decide if you want jump up to Contour GPS model or the Contour+ model.  Gopro has also recently launched their Gopro Hero2 lineup that adds the features like wi-fi(require add-on accessories), hdmi out, audio that are already offered in the Contour+.  The new Gopro Hero2 launch has dropped the price of the original Gopro Hero camera making for some good deals.  To save on Gopro or Contour get the latest coupons and sales at Gopro Coupons or Contour Camera Coupons.

ContourRoam camera is new and it has set a new level for entry level wearable Cameras.  Cost of the unit is $199.  The Contour Roam shoots full 1080p HD.  It’s easy to use, waterproof, small, comes with mounts and includes all the software you need to edit and publish your videos.  If you compare it to the entry level Gopro camera, you would be looking at the Gopro HD Hero 960 which cost $179, but only shoots at 960 resolution.  So let’s jump to the Gopro HD Hero naked.  It shoots at 1080p but will cost you $259.  Now people have told me that the Gopro HD Hero Naked is only the camera, but that’s not true it does include the waterproof housing.  So other then shape preference, the ContourRoam is waterproof to one meter, while the Gopro HD Hero is waterproof to 60 meters because it comes with the waterproof case.  If you are going deeper then a meter you need to add the waterproof case that will cost you about $30 making the ContourRoam in the $230-$240 price range.  Still cheaper.  It’s also easier to use because the top large button on the contour camera is easier to use then the little button on the Gopro.  This is my opinion after playing with both and you may have a different opinion, but I think it’s quite obvious.  If you are using a ContourRoam on the slopes, skating, biking, flying,sky diving you won’t need the waterproof to 60m.  You probably wouldn’t even need to add the Contour waterproof case if your doing water sports like kite boarding. 

When it comes to weight and size, they are both small.  Like previously mentioned you may have a preference in shape, with Gopro sporting the box look and the Contour sporting cylindrical look.  The Gopro weighs in .8 oz heavier then ContourRoam without waterproof case.  They are both the same weight and if you tell me that you can feel one is heavier then the other, I would probably call you a lier.  The ContourRoam also has a sleek aluminum body construction.  At $199 this is the new entry level standard for wearable sports cameras.  The ContourRoam will suit the majority of users needs at a great price of $199.  When looking for Contour Camera coupons I found the Contour 1080p on sale with available Contour Coupon for only $137.  This is a great deal and you should consider it.  It looks like the Contour 1080p is on sale, because it has been replaced with the ContourRoam, so they are blowing out inventory everywhere.  At $137 add the waterproof case for $30-$40 and you are still cheaper then the ContourRoam.  If you are using it for strictly land activities you can not beat the Contour 1080p at $137.  I also know a few people that use the Contour 1080p snowboarding with no waterproof case and no problems because it is water resistant.  Get all the latest contour camera deals at Contour Camera Coupons.

Contour Coupons are available for some great deals right now.  The Contour Camera is a fantastic wearable camera, that I seem to like more and more.  The design is different then competitors Gopro HD Hero Cameras and I have heard that it does not mount as easily as the Gopro.  This is not true, now that I have had a chance to use the Contour on numerous occasions.  The build quality of the contour cameras is far superior to Gopro cheap plastic body with an aluminum body.  Very sleek with aluminum body.  Also the difference in shape profile makes goggle mount far superior with the contour camera.  the other thing I noticed is the Contour Cameras are easy to turn off and on compared to Gopro HD Hero cameras, that have the little button that has to be spring loaded through their waterproof case.  Now when it comes to waterproof, the Gopro is waterproof to 60m, while the Contour Camera are only water resistant.  The New Contour Roam is waterproof to 1 meter, but I’ll talk about that in a second.  I know numerous people that use a Contour Camera for snowboarding with no water problem.   If your diving or wake boarding it’s a problem and you would have to buy the contour Camera waterproof casing.  No big deal it’s only about 30 bucks.  Other features that the Contour Cameras have is that you can get a GPS model and bluetooth connection to iOS or Android to make your phone into a viewfinder.  Gopro LCD Screen add on is required for a Gopro Viewfinder.  Now it comes to cost.  About 12 months ago, I noticed Contour was little bit more expensive and their were more Gopro Coupons available.  Now there are basically no Gopro Promos going on and Contour has dropped pricing and lots of Contour Camera coupons are available.  For example at the time of writing this blog the Contour GPS 1080p is on sale for only $162 at Contour Camera Coupons.  The cost of a Gopro HD Helmet Hero is $299.  Contours new Roam Camera retails for $199, which blows away Gopro’s pricing and is ideal for most situations because it is waterproof to a meter and requires no waterproof casing, unless your diving.  You can find that the latest Gopro deals at Gopro coupons and the latest Contour deals at Contour Camera Coupons.
