Water Ionizers appear to be growing in popularity.  I have been reading about them for some time, and the claim is that it will provide healthy alkaline water.  The alkaline water that a water ionizer produces helps balance the PH in your body.  Studies have shown that high intake of alkaline water will help you increase your energy and fight disease.  Some even state the possibility of reverse aging properties.  In my opinion I think the jury is out on some of these potential claims, especially the reverse aging properties.  The concept of PH balance in your body is a concept that I can understand and agree.  I don’t know to what degree alkaline water would help, but I’m pretty sure it won’t hurt you.   Now the questions is where does that leave you in regards to purchasing a water ionizer.  Well if you take out the water Ionizing part, they are excellent water filters.  I have spent comparable money on water filters in the past, especially if you are looking into a reverse osmosis water system.  Like a lot of people I try to use one of those aluminum water bottles, to reduce the plastic bottle waste in our landfills.  The leeching of the plastic water bottles is a concern for me as well.
