ContourRoam camera is new and it has set a new level for entry level wearable Cameras.  Cost of the unit is $199.  The Contour Roam shoots full 1080p HD.  It’s easy to use, waterproof, small, comes with mounts and includes all the software you need to edit and publish your videos.  If you compare it to the entry level Gopro camera, you would be looking at the Gopro HD Hero 960 which cost $179, but only shoots at 960 resolution.  So let’s jump to the Gopro HD Hero naked.  It shoots at 1080p but will cost you $259.  Now people have told me that the Gopro HD Hero Naked is only the camera, but that’s not true it does include the waterproof housing.  So other then shape preference, the ContourRoam is waterproof to one meter, while the Gopro HD Hero is waterproof to 60 meters because it comes with the waterproof case.  If you are going deeper then a meter you need to add the waterproof case that will cost you about $30 making the ContourRoam in the $230-$240 price range.  Still cheaper.  It’s also easier to use because the top large button on the contour camera is easier to use then the little button on the Gopro.  This is my opinion after playing with both and you may have a different opinion, but I think it’s quite obvious.  If you are using a ContourRoam on the slopes, skating, biking, flying,sky diving you won’t need the waterproof to 60m.  You probably wouldn’t even need to add the Contour waterproof case if your doing water sports like kite boarding. 

When it comes to weight and size, they are both small.  Like previously mentioned you may have a preference in shape, with Gopro sporting the box look and the Contour sporting cylindrical look.  The Gopro weighs in .8 oz heavier then ContourRoam without waterproof case.  They are both the same weight and if you tell me that you can feel one is heavier then the other, I would probably call you a lier.  The ContourRoam also has a sleek aluminum body construction.  At $199 this is the new entry level standard for wearable sports cameras.  The ContourRoam will suit the majority of users needs at a great price of $199.  When looking for Contour Camera coupons I found the Contour 1080p on sale with available Contour Coupon for only $137.  This is a great deal and you should consider it.  It looks like the Contour 1080p is on sale, because it has been replaced with the ContourRoam, so they are blowing out inventory everywhere.  At $137 add the waterproof case for $30-$40 and you are still cheaper then the ContourRoam.  If you are using it for strictly land activities you can not beat the Contour 1080p at $137.  I also know a few people that use the Contour 1080p snowboarding with no waterproof case and no problems because it is water resistant.  Get all the latest contour camera deals at Contour Camera Coupons.
