In previous years I have actually tested the different online tax return software.  They let you register and you pay when you decide to file so you get to see what your refund is going to be before you decide.  If you have the time to enter all your information, then you can give it a try, but from my results a few years ago Turbo Tax did the best.  Probably why millions use it but I thought I would try it anyways and to be accurate they were all pretty close within $10, so I’m not knocking any other tax package.  TurboTax Deluxe is on sale.  I was looking for a Turbotax coupon and they have deluxe going for $29.99 reg $49.99.  This is includes free efile for federal.  State efile for the deluxe package is $36.95.  The Tubotax Deluxe edition will cover all your needs as long as you don’t have stocks, bonds, mutual funds and/or rental properties.  If you have stocks, bonds,funds or rental properties you will have to move up to Turbotax Premier edition that goes for $49.99 reg $74.95.
